Birth Doula Services
-
What is a doula?
A doula is a non-medical birth support professional who offers comfort measures, education, and emotional grounding throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
-
Do you attend hospital, birth center, or home births?
I attend all birth settings. My role is to support you wherever you feel safest.
-
How early should I book a doula?
Most families book between 12–28 weeks, but I can take on late-booking clients if space allows.
-
What makes your doula support unique?
I blend evidence-based education with intuitive, culturally rooted practices. My support is both practical and spiritual. Holding space, advocating for informed choices, and tending to the emotional and somatic experience of birth are all equally important in the care I provide.
-
Do you help with birth plans?
Yes. We work together to create a birth plan that reflects your values, priorities, and needs, including comfort techniques, advocacy points, and postpartum wishes. I offer this through my birth support packages and also offer a “Just the Prenatals” option that does not include in-person doula support.
-
Can partners still be involved if I hire a doula?
Absolutely. I love supporting partners, not replacing them. I guide them on how to offer effective support and help them feel confident throughout labor.
-
What if I change my mind during labor?
Birth is fluid, and your preferences can shift. I support your choices in real time and help you make decisions that align with your needs in the moment.
-
Is your support inclusive?
Yes. Nido Birth Services is a safe, affirming space for all families: multilingual, multicultural, and inclusive of diverse family structures.
-
What areas do you serve?
I primarily serve familes in Austin, Texas and the surrounding areas including but not limited to: Liberty Hill, Leander, Georgetown, Jarrell, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Hutto and Pflugerville. Some locations may include a small travel fee based on distance and on-call timing.
La Colmena Sana: Bodywork, Sobadas and Womb Care
-
What is a sobada?
A sobada is a traditional abdominal and womb massage that supports circulation, digestion, menstrual harmony, fertility, postpartum healing, and emotional release. It is gentle, intuitive, and sacred.
-
Do you offer in-home sessions?
Yes. I offer in-home sessions for postpartum mothers, babies, and anyone who prefers to receive care in their own environment.
-
What should I expect during a session?
You’ll receive hands-on womb and abdominal work, rebozo support, grounding breathwork, and guided somatic meditation. Sessions are deeply restorative and held with reverence.
-
Can this help with fertility or menstrual imbalance?
Many clients with PCOS, irregular cycles, painful periods, postpartum recovery, or long-term fertility challenges find support through consistent sessions and lifestyle guidance.
-
How do I know if womb work or sobadas are right for me?
If you’re experiencing menstrual irregularities, painful periods, fertility challenges, postpartum discomfort, digestion issues, or simply feel disconnected from your womb space, sobadas can be deeply supportive. Many women also come just to feel grounded, nurtured, and reconnected to their bodies.
-
What should I wear to my session?
Wear soft, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your abdomen. Most clients feel best in leggings or loose pants with a comfortable top. You will be covered and supported throughout the session to help you feel safe, warm, and held.
